Need your help on a mistery !

When uploading a document in IFS (V8), many users get the below message informing that they must have edit access in order to write the file. The users have edit and view access on the concerned doc classes. Even, the DMS administrator already got this message.

Documents are stored directly in the database.

The strange thing is that this is very irregular and we are unable to replicate intentionnally the message.

Most of the time, the second test of uploading the same document immediately after the first one, is working and the document is properly checked-in.

I think it is not linked either the users or doc class….but due to what ?

Thanks for your help

Someone reported the same, or a similar problem here just some days ago (just scroll though this forum to find it). The reason then was the folder (on the computer or server) containing the files that are checked in were read-only, and changing the access solved the problem. Since for you it works sometimes if you try a second time, this does not sound like a solution, but it might be worth looking into.

Another thought that popped up was if you keep the files in a folder controlled by Microsoft OneDrive. I have heard about strange behaviors when people check out files there. Also something to look into.
