Hi everyone,

I would like to create a Word document, attached on my screen. The screen I want to replicate is the steps tab in the wrok task screen :

And I want to create this kind of chart on Word :

With this rules :

  • For each Object ID in the line, create a new independant chart, with the name of the object in the first cell (1)
  • For each steps for this object, create a new line, with the step description in the second column (2,3)
  • In the first column of each line, retrieve the media linked to the step line (We could have more than one photo)

Do you think it is possible to do that using docman macros ?

Hi Simon,

Thanks for posting here.

I think it might be possible to pull off using macros, but the devil is in the detail and you simply need to try it out and see. Our documentation on document macros has some simple examples plus a relatively advanced example on how to use object attributes in macros. It's for Excel, but it's still VBScript with a VBA flavor, so it should be possible to translate to Word.

Expect a bumpy ride, because this is "development", not only "configuration," and you might not want to take this on if you don't have at least a somewhat technical background 🙂

Good luck!

Hi Mathias, thanks for your answer. Actually we find something possible with our report creator, but we may need it on a next step.

Yes, I know customers have reports that include media items (images). There are probably limits there to how many images you can include, since I think you need to have predefined placeholders for them in the report layout.
