Hi all,

We’re currently using IFS (IFS Cloud 22R1) and have come across an issue regarding customer order charges.

When a customer order includes a freight charge without connecting to any order line and the customer has already reached their credit limit, the order gets credit blocked — as expected. However, the system still processes and invoices the charge line separately, even though the order is not delivered.

Has anyone experienced this?
Is there a way to stop IFS from invoicing order charges separately in such cases, or is this a known system limitation?

Appreciate any insights or suggested workarounds!

Best regards,
Harsha

Hi @Harsha Siriwardhana

The explained behavior has been identified as a defect in the system. This issue has been fixed in IFS Cloud versions 23.2.23 (23R2 SU23), 24.1.17 (24R1 SU17), 24.2.11 (24R2 SU11), and 25.1.5 (25R1 SU5).

With this fix, Customer Order Charges that are not connected to order lines will no longer be invoiced separately when the customer has exceeded their credit limit and the company setting “Invoice Unconnected Charges Separately” is disabled. This ensures that unconnected charges are also subject to credit block, thereby aligning the invoicing behavior with the company’s credit policies.

Hi @Nikila Dis

Thank you for the update. Could you please confirm whether this fix can be applied as a hotfix to the current update (we’re on version 24.2.5)?

Best regards,

Harsha

Hi @Harsha Siriwardhana,

I have checked this and according to our records, you are currently running a Service Update that is several months behind [24.2.5], whereas the latest available Service Update is SU11. As per the IFS Support Policy, customers are required to stay within three updates of the latest version. Therefore, it is not possible to apply this fix as a hot fix.

Further details can be found in the IFS Support Policy.
