Example. I have two shipment lines attached to a Shipment. Line 1 with qty 10 has 8 in my first handling unit and the reminaing 2 in my second handling unit. Line 2 of my shipment is not in a handling unit. Is there a way to complete this Shipment?

It will not be possible to complete this shipment. There is a restriction which means that if one have started to attach lines to HU on a shipment, all lines needs to be attached. Then there an option to deliver shipment without attaching any of the shipment lines to HU. To use that option one should use set the option to “Unattached Shipment Lines Allowed”. This value can be dfaulted on the basic data for Customer / Address / Order Address Info
Here is help text for “Unattached Shipment Lines Allowed” checbox on shipment header which more or less gives the same answer as above:
“Unattached Shipment Lines Allowed
If this check box is selected, the shipment can be set to status Complete when having a handling unit structure defined without having to connect any shipment lines to the structure. However, if any shipment line has been connected to the structure, the system will require that all shipment lines that are connected to the shipment are connected to the structure as well. By default, the check box is not selected, which means that when a handling unit structure is defined, it should contain the exact contents of each handling unit in the handling unit structure with reference to the shipment line that is included. Without the shipment lines attached the status cannot be set to Complete for the shipment. When creating a new shipment, the value will be retrieved to the shipment from the applicable Receiver ID and address stated in the shipment. The value can be updated until the shipment reaches status Complete.”
As an option for your example, still wanting have some shipment lines packed and some not could perhaps be to use reassign functionality to create new shipment for parts that shouldn’t be packed. Or create a virtual HU for unpacked shipment lines.

+8For a similar issue reported in IFS Cloud 25R2, the R&D team provided the following explanation. I am sharing these details to present the latest update and current behavior in IFS Cloud for this type of scenario.
A shipment can only be completed when there is no outstanding connected quantity remaining to be attach to Handling Unit. If any connected quantity is still pending, the system must require the quantity to be appropriately handled before allowing the shipment to be completed. Leaving some lines as loose cargo is not supported. The Technical documentation also refer the same behavior.
As per the technical documentation,
”The *Unattached Shipment Lines Allowed* option will control whether the shipment can be set to *Complete* without connecting the shipment lines to the handling unit structure. If the option is disabled, the system will check that all shipment lines of the shipment are also connected to the handling unit structure. If the option is enabled, the system will allow the shipment to be set to *Complete* without any shipment lines being connected to the structure. However, if some shipment lines have been connected it will always be required that all shipment lines are connected, independent of the option setting.”
This toggle does not allow mixed packed and loose cargo. It only allows Complete when *no* lines are packed in other words its allowed to keep a empty HU structure when completing the shipment. Once any line is on an HU, every line must be packed. That is current design
The option sits on the shipment (Settings and Indicators) and can be set while the shipment is Preliminary. It is not defaulted from Shipment Type. For typical Shipment Order receivers (Site / Remote Warehouse) it defaults to disabled.
As per the current design, if the user needs to proceed with mixed packed and unpacked cargo, they can use the Reassign option to create a new shipment, either by reassigning the HU-connected part from the Handling Unit page or the unattached part from the Shipment page.
If required, the Consolidate Shipment option can then be used to keep track of the related shipments.
There is currently no Roadmap item for this, as the above behavior is the intended shipment design.
