Hello IFS Community,

I have a rental order that has been delivered. I created a draft invoice, which I then canceled.
I wanted to change an amount on one of the lines of my order, but I can’t do it. So I tried to cancel the line and/or the order, but since rental transactions have been created, I can’t cancel anything.

Right now I’m stuck; I can’t invoice this order, cancel it, or change the amount. How can I resolve this situation?

Thank you in advance for your responses,
Mathilde

Hi @Matoux ,

There is an option for Change Price in the Rental Workbench:

The option is really intended for adjusting the rental price over time for long term rentals, but it should be possible to use this option to backdate the price from the rental start:

Doing this will create a corresponding event in the Rental Event History, and if you then generate transactions again it should create correction transactions for you that can be invoiced.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,
Johan

Hello Johan,

Thank you very much for your reply; it’s very clear.
Following that, I made the change. Am I to understand that the price on my order will not change, and that it is not possible to modify it from the Orders tab (to avoid any confusion), but rather I should track it via the Rental Tracking page?
Also, will my invoice still show the line with the change I made?

Have a nice day,

Mathilde

Hi @Matoux,

Yes, the order line will still retain the old price. As you had already generated transactions, after making a backdated change of the rental price, the generate transactions function will realise this and should create correction transactions.

From memory, it will create negative transactions to effectively cancel out the original transactions, and then create new transactions with the updated price. The best option is probably to test this in a test environment first, which should show you how it will look.

Kind regards,
Johan
