Once a PO has been released and the authorization fetched, a change (add tax) can be made to the PO, increasing the value which is not retriggering the fetching of authorization. Leaving a situation where the only approver cannot approve to PO amount.
How can I rectify this?

I am not sure if I have understood your issue 100%.
If you have selected “Allow Changers after authorization” and the value changed to the PO is within the Authorizer limit there will not be further authorization required by the application.
