What are the capabilities that IFS applications offer that can be identified as ‘Internal Trade’? I know Inter-site setup is one. Inter company is another. What else? can you please elaborate? Thanks in advance.

Also look at Transport tasks and Distribution Orders.

Hi @EnzoFerrari

The main functionality for ‘internal trading’ are inter company and inter site.

There is also material requisitions that tend to be used for internal consumption of inventory but its not ‘trading’ e.g. If your holding inventory of tea bags, paper, printer ink etc you would use the material req to issue stock to ‘internal customers’ these could then be things like ‘Finance Department’, Sales Department’ etc

What scenario/process do you want to create an IFS Solution for?

Cheers

Lee

In addition to Inter site and Inter company functionalities, below mentioned functionalities can also be used depending on the requirement.

Distribution order: Used for moving Inventory Parts between Sites. A planned Distribution Order identifies a need for goods to be moved from one Site (the Supply Site) to another Site (the Demand Site). They create Customer and Purchase Orders which are connected to each other. Distribution Orders can be created automatically by the system. If Shipment is used the distribution and receipt can be done in handling units. Invoicing is available.

Transport task: Used for moving Parts between Locations within a Site and between Sites. The Sites can belong to the same Company or different Companies. The Transport Task cannot be used for moves between different databases. It is used for moves that should be executed outside the ordinary Reservation, Shipment, and Receipt Processes. Also a way to inform either the truck driver or the stacker that goods (Parts or Handling Units) need to be transferred to a different Inventory Location. Invoicing will not happen.

Material requisition: Used for requesting material for internal demands, as opposed to Customer Orders that fulfill external demands. Invoicing will not happen.
