Question

Customer hierarchy vs rebate agreements

Do we need to set up a customer hierarchy to use rebate agreements?

We want to avoid using customer hierarchies due to the some other consequences, so our current setup is as follows:

  • Partner customer (A): Rebate receiver

  • End customer (1): Invoice customer is set to Partner customer (A)

  • End customer (2): Invoice customer is set to Partner customer (A)

When I create separate rebate agreements for each end customer, setting End customer (1) and End customer (2) as the rebate receivers, the rebates are not calculated. ( I tried both toggling on and off Ignore Invoice Customer for Receiver toggle)

It seems that this is because the invoice customer and the rebate customer do not match.

Could you clarify whether a customer hierarchy is required for rebate agreements to work in this scenario, and if there is an alternative setup that would allow us to calculate rebates per end customer without using customer hierarchies while sending the invoices to the partner customer?
