Creating parts with assortments seem to create a new node to the assortment for each part. Does anybody know what is the point in that? Just makes the whole assortment structure confusing.

+21Which version are you on? I create assortment nodes and next connect the parts in the correct nodes. No new nodes created at all in IFS21R2.
Just added these parts to this assortment and created the inventory parts
and now I also have these as assortment nodes

+21I see what you mean, but on the other hand, if you look at Assortment Nodes, they are not there, so it seems to me that there is a technical situation and it is solved by showing it the way it is.
I take it that you have noticed that there is a green diamond like icon on the left of the part, that notifies you that it is a part and not a node.
