Want to confirm it is NOT possible to add a customer order line with a Supply Code of “Service Order” to an IFS Shipment.   The customer order line is a non-inventory sales part.  I found it possible to add a non-inventory part to a shipment, but not when the Supply Code is “Service Order”.

It appears that way, but need to confirm I’m not missing a setup step.

Thanks for your help.

Hi @darenick, in the online help, it says, the supply code for customer order lines must not be Purch Order DirInt Purch DirNot Decided or Service Order in order to connect to a shipment.

@Ravinatha Ariyarathna do you know why Service Order is not an option for connecting to shipment? We testing as we begin our upgrade to Cloud and find this to be an issue. Our process will have a service order line (non inventory sales part) that is used for invoicing the customer and contains export values, while we’d have a line for an inventory part that is reserved and shipped.

@jenjen0510, Idea behind the shipment captures delivering physical stock to the receiver. In the situation of a non-inventory sales part, it is only provided as a service or similar. There is no actual physical delivery. The value of the non-inventory sales part can be captured in the invoice with the inventory part. On what requirement should you have the non-inv sales part in the shipment?

@Vimukthi Mahakumbura  thank you. In Cloud, shipment does allow connection of non inventory lines. In this case, the service order line is a non inventory line originating from a service - in this case a work order. We would want the line connected because that value is used for export & customs purposes. Not having the ability to connect causing a major change / issue with how we are doing business.
