We found and issue while attempting to migrate PROD_STRUCTURE rows using the Data Migration Manager.

In essence, once we reach the Deployment Container screen and when we click on Deploy, nothing gets deployed. Even worse, there is no error message or anything to indicate if the deployment failed or something else is preventing the action to complete.

Because a video is easier to show this condition I uploaded this video on YouTube so you can see what exactly is going on.

Any idea as to what could be happening?

We finally figured out what was the root cause of our problem.

The template we were using (obtained from the IFS Support site) which was “IFS24R1_PROJECT_TEMPLATE” was not the latest one. We received a new template from R&D team (called “IFS24R1_PROJECT_TEMPLATE”) and the problem was solved.

More specifically the difference that fixed this problem is that, in the new template, in the “Migration Object Definition” for PRODUCT STRUCTURE, the 3 Target Tables looked like this…

Good

While in the old template it was like that…

Once we modified this screen (Removed the values in the “Parent Sequence” column) the problem was solved!

Hi @msurasky-price ,

Could you please check within your legacy data if you can find any record duplicated based on primary key (PART_NO, CONTRACT, ENG_CHG_LEVEL, ALTERNATIVE_NO, BOM_TYPE, LINE_ITEM_NO)

Hello @Makede

Thanks for taking interest in this one.

I did check any possible duplication. There is nothing, so that’s definitely not a factor in this behavior.

If you (or any other one...) has any idea as to what could be causing it, please let me know. It’s been a week and since then we (nor the IFS consultants) have been able to comprehend why this is happening.

Thanks!
