I have a query, is there any way to extract the data from IFS Cloud via the ETL tool(talend, boomi etc.) to our data warehouse? Is their any documentation regarding this.

Hi Mani Shankar,
there are several ways to export data from IFS:
* Export with the existing IFS data migration tool (s. https://docs.ifs.com/techdocs/24r2/030_administration/050_data_management/050_data_migration/030_migration_types/010_file_migration/030_create_output_file/#write_data_from_a_single_source)
* Exporting data from the system with configured outputs or quick reports
* Export data from the database using SQL queries and re-import into the ETL tool
* Direct data access of the ETL tool via Oracle driver
* Data access of the ETL to the IFS REST APIs
There is no generally valid description / documentation, including information on the data model. However, there is information on the REST APIs. The technical documentation at https://docs.ifs.com/techdocs/24r2/ provides a good starting point

+6If we have access to oracle database, do you recommend exact data from view or table?
Hi junpei.
It depends on your goal.
For extraction purposes only, I recommend extracting data from the view, as it more closely reflects the data displayed in the IFS client/browser. Additionally, some views already consolidate multiple tables, making the data model simpler.
However, data extracted directly from the table is always language-independent.
Consider whether you want a user-centric approach or a more technical perspective.

our goal is to track changes to customer order and invoice for booking analysis. ( eg qty, price, status changes etc) .
There are two options, one is to read the oracle archive log and extract the delta, the other is to extract from view but we need extra work to implement scd2.
i think IFS cloud also has data warehouse option.
just curious what your opinion. Much Appreciated
+6Unfortunately, I have no direct experience with this myself. However, if the goal is to track changes, analyzing the archive logs might be a more efficient approach - or at least worth considering.
