We recently found out the External File Assistant has been (or is about to be) deprecated in IFS Cloud. Is there any information on a replacement for this functionality? Will that replacement be an additional cost?
I think you are misinformed, unless I have missed out on a news presentation.
At least in 24R2 SU6 External File Assistant is available.
Having said that, functionality has slightly changed.
External File Templates cannot directly read files from a server location (oracle directory) unless a File Reader / FTP reader brings in the file.
Also, Custom External File Types cannot be defined from the front end. It has to be done as a modification. But if upgrading from a old version which had custom file types it will work with a minor change.
