Hi All,

I was following the below URL to use Excel migration job to insert/update Note field in BUSINESS_LEAD page in IFS. (IFS Cloud 24R1)

https://docs.ifs.com/techdocs/Foundation1/040_administration/260_data_management/050_data_migration/002_migration_types/030_excel_migration/default.htm?_gl=1*1kzdxq4*_ga*MTI0OTMxMDg4OC4xNzA0ODM1MDgw*_ga_H7YJR9R7Q1*MTcwODUzMzQ2Mi45MC4xLjE3MDg1MzM0OTAuMC4wLjA

And I got below error when trying to insert or update the Note field.

I have attached the migration job I used.

What could be the reason or any idea of resolving this error will be much appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi Disna,

handling CLOBs is not natively supported by the IFS Excel Add-In.

“Handling columns with CLOB data type is not supported as is in Data Migration. This is because CLOB data is not sent in the Attribute String which is used to insert/update data. CLOB data is handled separately.”

But there is a workaround:

“But there is a workaround which can be used to migrate data into CLOB columns up to 2000 characters.”

For information pls. refer to the technical documentation:

https://docs.ifs.com/techdocs/24r2/030_administration/050_data_management/050_data_migration/030_migration_types/030_excel_migration/#handling_lus_with_clob_columns

@FlorianTauber Thanks for the reply!

I also followed similar IFS documents (URL as in above post) but got that error.

But I will further follow the URL you shared.

Do you see anything wrong in the migration job I have attached?

Regards.

Disna M
