Hi All

We have a Scheduled Database task to automatically receive Incoming Dispatch Advises. It raised an error for a particular PO line because ‘Inventory Part in Stock Object does not exist’

Simply here’s what we did in IFS:

  1. Project Supply created from a WO
  2. Purchase Requisition raised from the Project Activity’s Supply side
  3. PR converted to PO, released and order sent
  4. Incoming CO released from the demand site and the Shipment processed
  5. Shipment delivered and Dispatch Advise created, sent
  6. Error in automatic receipt background job. Tried to manually receive the PO line, still the error comes up with ‘Inventory Part in Stock Object does not exist’

Is this possible? Why would we need parts to receive parts. Checked the location, no restrictions there. Other parts remain on the location.

It isn’t that you have to have parts in stock to receive it, rather, the IPIS table is complaining about something being missing on the receipt for that part for some reason.

On the inventory part, check the default location is set.

Check that an estimated cost at least has been set for the part, if not costed.

Check that other part settings haven’t been changed from what is expected for the part.

If that fails to clear up the problem, you can force the IPIS record to be created by using manual receive and then manual issue to put an item in stock and take it back out. I’ve run across this before but usually with projects or shop orders, not with purchased items.

@ShawnBerk thanks. No, there’s no change in part settings [at least we could find] from the expected and no default locations. Also there’s an estimated cost. The strange thing is we tried it in the Test environment for the same part and same settings, but no error there. Will try to manually have a part in the location and receive. Thanks and happy weekend!
