Hello,

is there a functionality in IFS which can simulate the packing of a container?

For example, the shipment has 10 pallets with a size of 2x2x2 meters. How many can fit in a specific container size, or how much space is left for other things?

You mean packing multiple parts into one handling unit, in IFS terms right? Otherwise it’s hard for me to understand the value of ‘free space’. Have you considered using the below capabilities in IFS?

  1. Part > Tab ‘Handling Unit Capacity’ (How many parts can fit into a container)
  2. Packing Instructions (Levels of containers possibly)
  3. Pack According to Handling Unit capacity at Shipment 

@golo.naito this demo will help you study the functionality in IFS. It’s in IFS 10, not sure if you are using an earlier version where Handling Units are not present
