I want to stock parts in EA UoM but only buy and sell in pack quantities. (2, 10, 25 No. etc). I am not running MRP or using Create Order Proposal as this is being handled by an external demand management system. Can I achieve this by using Purchasing and Pricing UoM and if so, how would I set this up to force buying in pack quantities of 10 ? At the moment I get an Information message if the quantity is less than the minimum quantity I have set up on the Supplier for Purchase Part record but not if the order quantity is over this amount.

@CooAlastL

Yes I think by having a different price UoM in supplier for purchase part records, will allow the user to set a different purchase quantity communicated to the supplier and get it converted to the stock (inventory) uom at the time of receipt. But also you also need to enter the inventory conversion factor to define 1 pack = 10 pcs relationship in the same supplier for part record for user defined UoMs.

Otherwise the system will automatically derive the universal conversions (like 1m = 100cm ) if the user enter system defined UoMs as such.

Then I guess the user can set the minimum quantity for the number of packs (min qty represent the purchase qty of the PO line) all the time with the above set up.

Let me know if this works for you.
