Is it somehow possible, for an object where we have defined a prefix and index on the product class, to let this be reassigned for objects even if they already have a ShortCode? We have a few objects that do not yet follow the automatic convention because people have manually assigned ShortCodes. How can we best clean this up, or implement it?

Hi Jeremias,

You can set up assyst to automatically generate item ShortCodes for new items:
Product Class Form - assyst26R1Wiki

However, existing items are not affected. The auto-generation feature is intentionally bypassed as soon as any value exists in the shortcode field.

To clean up existing items, other than manually renaming them via the item form, you could use assystREST or assystETM for bulk updates.

You could also log an improvement suggestion here: https://community.ifs.com/ideas

Before submitting your idea, please enter “assyst” in both the Product Area and Tags fields. This will ensure your suggestion is registered under the IFS assyst category.

Best Regads,
Caroline
