Hello,

I am setting up a workflow process in which I am sending authorization and decision tasks for end users on the assyst NET side. End users can create a request and if this request requires authorization/decision it is automatically generate and send to them. Authorization is usually done by a different person then the original end user requestor.

Question: Can original end user requestor see/view who is the authorizer/decision maker? How to populate this information to the request?

Hello @Oshadi C

Thank you so much for your response on this.
I think my question was misunderstood. I am able to see the authorization and decision tasks in case I am assigned to it. What I need is a visibility on who is the authorizer/decision maker in case this task is not assigned to me, but as a requestor (in a process my request goes in the second step of the process for authorization to the other person, e.g. manager) I would like to see for whom I am awaiting that the authorization/decision is taken.

Currently, my permissions View Events is set as “Own” and I would not like to change it as then as the End users my view on Self-Service Portal will not be limited to view only the requests that I am making as the end user and it will become messy, which I would like to avoid for end users.

Kindly let me know if there is another way.

So far, I came up with adding a custom field of read-only type on the form, where I am displaying who is the authorizer. Maybe not perfect, but so far it seems like a good workaround.

Thanks,
Kasia

Hello

yes — the original end user (requestor) can see who the authorizer or decision maker is, but this depends on how permissions are configured in assystNET Self-Service portal

How Visibility Works

Visibility of Authorization and Decision Tasks in the Self-Service Portal is controlled by the Contact User’s Alias permissions, specifically:

The Contact User's Alias must have the “View Events (logged by or assigned to)” privilege set to Any.

When Can a Contact User See an Authorization/Decision?

**A Contact User can see an Authorization or Decision Task on a Basic Event Monitor if any of the following conditions apply:

**The Authorization/Decision is assigned directly to their Contact User Alias

**It is assigned to their Alias’s Primary or Secondary SVDs

**Their Contact User Alias is set as the Reviewing User of a Decision Task (regardless of assignment)

The Authorization/Decision has been delegated to them

There is an issue when the authorization task in not assigned to you.
The authorizer/decision maker depend on the authorized, decision action which is visible only in that task not in the parent event. Hence you cannot see how is the authorizer/decision maker from the parent event be default.

As a workaround I can suggest logging an action (probably using AP or ETM) in the parent event with this details. So the user who logged the parent event can see the authorizer/decision maker from the parent event actions which is visible in assystnet portal.

Hi Rajana,

Thank you so much for taking your time in responding on this and your idea!

I think this is still not the best solution, as this will prompt me only with details in the comments section and I need to be able to display this in the Assyst NET for the end users. I do think that logging it into the comment might not be much well visible for them. I will stay with workaround of having a read-only field displaying that person.

Thank you!
