Work Task-Mwo-Maintenance App

Hi

I’m seeking input from the community regarding a status synchronization issue between the MWO Maintenance App and IFS Cloud.

In the MWO Maintenance App, within Work Task details, all task steps were updated to Done, time was reported, and the Work Task status was moved to Completed. However, when reviewing the same Work Task in IFS Cloud, only a subset of the steps reflects the Done status, while the remaining steps still appear as Not Done. Additionally, the reported time is not fully updated in IFS Cloud.

Has anyone encountered a similar discrepancy between the mobile app and IFS Cloud? Any insights on potential causes, sync settings to review, or recommended troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You

Hi,

Are you not getting any failed transactions in the system or queued transactions in the mobile?

Hi

I’m not getting any failed transaction for that user.

Thank You

That sounds very odd, if you’re not getting failed transactions @nkotakonda. Which version of the app and which version of IFS Cloud is this?
I’m assuming that the changes are lost in mobile when you initialize as well i.e. the job is back, step status is reset and time reports are gone?

Can you recreate this reliably or does it only happen in certain scenarios, for certain users?

Hi @anmise

I have further analysed the issue occurs specifically when a work task contains more than three steps and the transaction is performed through the MWO mobile application. When the technician marks a step as “Done,” reports time, and sets the work status to “Completed,” the expected synchronization does not occur in the IFS Cloud.

In the corresponding work task, the individual step statuses remain unchanged, although the reported time is not visible under the Time Report tab. The overall work task status continues to display as “Work Started,” indicating that the completion event is not being fully processed. These transactions also appear in the failed transaction queue, confirming that the update is not successfully committed.

The Client is on IFS Cloud-23R2  and  technician is using App Name: MaintEngApp iOS and Client Version: 25.3.1443.0

The operation "Complete" is not allowed for Work Task Step objects in state "Done". - ORA-20132: JtTaskStep.NOTHANDLED2: The operation "Complete" is not allowed for Work Task Step objects in state "Done".

When the same process is executed using the MWO desktop application, the system behaves as expected, step statuses update correctly, time entries are synchronized, and the work task status transitions to “Completed.”

@nkotakonda  that’s great additional info. Please raise a support case for it.

Hi @anmise

Do you think it is a bug or I’m overlooking a configuration setting?

Thank You

Hi @anmise

Do you think it is a bug or I’m overlooking a configuration setting?

Thank You

Since it’s specific to the platform you use, it’s most likely a bug.
