Unable to place serial object to equipment structure

Hi,

We are on Update 12. I created and progressed the Repair Work Order and stuck at the stage where I need to place Serial Object to structure to change position from Issued to InFacility.

When I use RMB on Report In Work Order → Place Serial in Equipment Structure and pick Functional Object against which I want to place it I get the error message “Object is already used in a PM Action or Work Order”. I have Work Orders against this Serial but they all either Finished or Cancelled. Surely it cant stop me to send equipment back to customer if I was fixing this part before?

Hi,

 

Could you please provide screen shots on the Serial Object to see its current position. And may be some test steps how you followed the process would help to identify the problem.

Hi,

This is my serial object

 

What I did was:

  1. Create Case via New Case Assistance
  2. Using Case Task created WO as a handover reference
  3. Used RMB on the Prepare Work Order select Create Repair Work Order
  4. Cancelled original Work Order
  5. Released tasks on Repair WO
  6. I returned Serial Part to inventory via Returns tab
  7. Then on Materials tab I Issued part to Repair
  8. Once Work Task was Work Done I Returned Part to Inventory via Returns tab
  9. Then I created new Material Requisition line and issued serial part
  10. Now Im trying to Place the Serial to Equipment but get the error…  

I’ve attached the guide I was following (please look from page 5). I get the error on the last step of the guide (page 10)

Hi,

It seems a bug to me. Hope the PM actions and Work Orders connected to the Object are Finished or Cancelled.

The only Active WO is the Repair one and no PMs.. :(

Update: I moved Repair WO to status Finished as well, but still get the same error

Then it seems a bug. Please report a task for further investigation.
