I am trying to figure how to use the ‘Ship Only’ Process Type in the Return Reason connected to Repair RMA.
My end goal is to accommodate the following process flow in IFS.
- Receive a Service Object from a customer to be repaired by a 3rd party. (the ‘Receive Only’ process type can be used for this.)
- Use the External Repair Orders process (starting from a PO).
- Ship the repaired object back to the customer.
For the #3 above, I am trying to use the ‘Ship Only’ process type as mentioned initially. But I keep getting the error “RMA Unit cannot be created for SHIPONLY Lines” in the New Repair RMA assistant.
Furthermore, it would be best if I can jump to the External Repair Orders process after initiating a Repair RMA of ‘Repair and Return’ process type. But the serial part is reserved to the Repair Bench in this case and therefore cannot be used in the External Repair Orders process.
Can someone please share any knowledge or documentation around this topic? Or any other method to achieve the same outcome is also appreciated.
