Hi All,

In standard Work Orders, we have the possibility to create a ‘new Service Quotation’ from the WO. In that way, the customer can agree to the work before we start the work and there is no discussion when invoicing them later on.

Does the same functionality exist for a “New Repair RMA”? We have a customer where a customer initiates a RMA process by reporting a fault, the RMA is created and the Equipment is sent back into a QA location. And inspection is done and we define the parts/resources that need to be done in order to repair the Equipment (all of it is logged into the Repair Bench).

But before we actually start repairing, we want to sent a quotation to the customer explaining the details of the repair and the price associated with the repair. Ideally, the applicable sales part lines from the Repair Bench would be copied to that quotation.

Best Regards

Roel

Does the same functionality exist for a “New Repair RMA”?  - As a baseline quotation feature, no.  Although the planned prices can be reviewed on the Repair Bench and Repair RMA - Costs and Sales pages, and communicated to the customer in some manual fashion.

In 26R2 we will be adding a Repair RMA Quotation feature in the pattern of the new Request Quotation added for 26R1.

But this plan is to have a quotation first process, where the quotation is created and then turned into a Repair RMA when it has been accepted by the customer.

We have discussed the possibility of adding a Repair RMA first process; where the item to repair is received, tasks, material and time are planned on the repair bench, and a quote is generated from that information, so that it can be presented to the customer, before being accepted and repaired (or cancelled and scrapped or returned to the customer as is).

But at this point, an RMA first process is outside the scope of what we are developing for 26R2.

Our plan is to release Repair RMA Quotation in 26R2, collect feedback from the customers, and build on that as customers request enhancements.
