Hello,

Is IFS Cloud able to check that a person has a certain competency before they can book time to or work on a Work Task?

Hi @taenaren

Yes, it is possible when assigning work. However, when reporting time, the restriction is not there.

When assigning work, you can update the requirements in the “Additional qualifications” section.

Test flow:

1.Create a work order and a work task.

2.Go to work task, demands tab and enter a resource group.

3.Select the demand line and click additional qualifications.

4.You can see that the required competencies and certificates for the job are listed.

5.Now try to assign this resource requirement to an employee.

6.When “Apply Constraints” is selected, you can see that no resource is available who matches the qualifications.

7.Then go back and remove the qualifications in the demand line.

8.Repeat step 5 and 6 - Note that resources are now available.

To add certain qualifications for an employee:

  • Human Capital Management > HCM Services > Employee Management > Employee File > Qualification

Hope this helps.

Best Regards,

Thilini

Perfect. Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you.

And is there a way to add the demand/additional qualifications on a PM Action or Work Task Template so when the Work Order/Work task is created they come through automatically? We have many work orders that will have the same Qualification/Competency requirement and we don't want to have to go through each Work Task and add that manually

You are most welcome @taenaren . Glad to be of help.

Yes, it is possible in both Work task template and PM Action

One more question: Is it possible to have the sign off requirements come through to the Work Task from the Work Task Template or the PM Action.

We have many Work Orders being generated, each possibly having multiple Work Tasks. It isn’t practical for the user to go into each work task and enter the sign off requirements individually.

I’m afraid no @taenaren . I could not find such an option in Work task template or PM Action.

Thank you! I believe I can create an event to do this.
