This is an explanation how filter setting should work in all versions and for all tabs. Hope this help,

Filter set as follows 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 for the first 4 columns. The search filter will always filter column 1, then 2, then 3, then 4. The more column you set and you start to sort the last one with up / down the less you will see a change in the sorting, as the sorting will always be 1 / 2 / 3 / 4. When you set one column to no sorting (3rd click – no triangle visible) e.g. let’s say you remove 1 and 2, then column 3 with move up to 1 and column 4 moves up to 2. Adding previous column 1 back, then it will be new column 3.

If you’re referring to the sequence that the cursor moves to different fields within the Receive page, I don’t see a way to do this within the customizer tool.  If you find that a certain tab sequence is out of order (ie. Pressing tab doesn’t move to the next field), please open a support ticket and we will review it. I’m assuming that you’re asking to be able to enter serial numbers quickly in the receiving module, etc; so please also reference the specific screen or fields that you’re referring to if you open a ticket with support.

I discussed this a couple days ago with R&D and there is not an option at all to manage the tab order via Customizer or via any user accessible tool.

Per the outcome of that discussion: Tab order on the screens is defined by the framework and it cannot be changed.
