Is it possible to make the Resolve Failure Code not mandatory in Service Orders with a Time and Material Contracts, only mandatory for service Orders with a Customer Contract ? Now we have selected “Never” to be always mandatory.

What do the selections highlighted in yellow below mean, how works the functionality of those 2 selections? (there is no explanation in user guide ST-2 - Order Workflow Setup chapter 12.2)

Hi Piet,

I discussed this with R&D in regards to how the options highlighted work.  It is fairly simple, if there is a contract or warranty (first option), the failure code is mandatory (not optional).  In the second option, add if there is a TM contract to the list to check.

What they mean by zero value is basically IS NULL.

From your first question, it sounds like the first highlighted value will do what you are asking.  If there is a TM contract, the failure code is not mandatory.  (keep in mind though if you have warranties or not though).

R&D response was:

Will be mandatory ONLY IF SV will be either under customer/repair warranty or contract or T&M Contract.

On SV without warranty or contract or T&M contract Failure codes will be optional.

We will look to improve the documentation.

Hope this helps.

Hi Phil, I’ve tested the first highlighted value and this is the selection that meets our requirement. Thanks.
