Hi

Does anyone know how to see if the dispatch console is live or not? We are having issues with the dispatch console intermittently not auto-refreshing and it’s hard to see when the last time it was updated. The little icon in the corner (above the “schedule”) is green and says connected so it seems like it should be updating.

Also, is there a refresh setting anywhere? dispatch console settings has very little options and none of them relate to the refresh time

Hi,

The DC live update icon is the general indicator whether it is running or not.

Please make sure that LiveUpdate is True from Configuration Editor setting.

If you think that the live updates is still not happening, there could be error in the server that you may see in the log.

Please see the topic “Viewing Application Events for Hosted Solutions” seeded by Andrew D'Antonio.

If the above doesn’t help, for on-prem customer, please ask your system administrator to look at the Window Event Viewer Log, Applications and Services Log, something starts with Astea_DSE_Service… You should be able to see error there if any.

Your system admin may try to restart Astea DSE Service (AsteaAlliance150).

If all of those doesn’t solve the problem then you need to contact IFS Support.

Hope this helps.

To further clarify Joshua’s response and your question about setting the refresh.  The ability to refresh at different rates is not a function of the Dispatch Console.  For example, you can’t say refresh every 5 minutes or every 30 minutes.  The system is designed to PUSH the information to active sessions once a change has been made.  Please see this text from the Dispatch Console User’s Guide:

Live updates: (Must be set to True in the Astea Configuration Editor’s Profile > DC section).
If the data that you are viewing belongs to a node that is a part of an active DSE Session or an active Dispatch Console Session, updates to the data are immediately displayed on the Dispatch Console, even if they were made elsewhere or by another user.
Certain data elements need to be updated dynamically, so that current data in Astea Alliance is represented in the dispatch console. The data is initially loaded when dispatch console starts or is reloaded, but when modifications are made, data that has changed needs to be dynamically updated into dispatch console.

Joshua’s response that if you are not getting updates to your client after updates made to the different work order changes is correct that you will likely need to restart the Astea DSE Service and then monitor if you are getting the refreshes.
