HI,

We can set activity (activity codes)  with tools.

For a service order (with the activity), we can set the tool on the backend  (or in mobile edge)

(NB : It seems that we can use a tool in 2 service orders at the same time.)

After the SV was done, we don’t find any service log on the inventory item.

We only have a log for Inventory, but not a log of SVs were the tool has beenused.

Can i have to set something to have a service log ?

I am checking documentation but if you look at your menu, you have a page labeled as Tool Usage.  Doesn’t this do what you are requesting?

Yes we have a tool usage where we can find with a search the service orders.
Do you think that we have to check the list of SV with this tab ?

So, In this way, Service Log for a tool will never be used ?

Hi Anthony,

I don’t think you will find this added into the Services Log for the item that is the tool.  Service Log is reflecting changes you are doing to the item whereas Tool Usage is reflecting when you used the item, how long, etc.

I don’t believe services log will ever show where this tool was used, only the Tools Usage.

 


For reference, here is the Tools Usage showing I used the same tool in three different orders:

 

 

I do believe you may need to be careful that if you have two different orders at the same site and time that you are not using the tools at the same time per that Tools Usage date/time + duration.  Meaning no overlap.  (I know this is an extreme scenario but something I ran into while I was creating the above)
