We’re part way through IFS Cloud technical upgrade (IFS10 to 25R1).

We have an inhouse team who did front end CRIM work in 10 and we decided that we’d do the CRIM uplift inhouse and into Build Place, rather than the front end.

It’s been a very steep learning curve for the team to get up to speed and navigate through all the complexities of Build Place, the tools around it and the Branch, Sanity & Delivery builds.

I’m just wondering how many customers have gone down this route in a technical upgrade, or either:

  1. Continued with customisations in the front end? or
  2. Outsourced the Build Place activities?

It’s a hindsight question as we are progressing with the Build Place, but interested what others have done and the pro’s and con’s of it

Thanks Dave

As a partner, we’ve seen both, along with a third option of shared development.
The shared approach enables the customer team to become familiar with the new processes without causing a delay to the project timeline, whilst we, as the partner, do the bulk of the work.

Assuming your go-live is not imminent, you could still engage with a partner to support development activities.
