I work for a consultancy company, around 13 months ago we installed our own hosted versions of IFS10 and PSO. Both of these solutions are hosted on Azure, they are key in helping us work with our IFS customers. They are used for proof of concepts, demonstrations and learning. These environments are non-productive and used to help us sell IFS products and build solutions for customers.
I joined the company 11 months ago after these environments were setup, I’m confused with the process of how to keep these environments up to date with new releases. I’ve spoken with our partner success contact and they are not sure on the process. I’ve created a ticket with Osca under our partner account, this ticket was closed once it got passed to support and I'm unable to see the progress of it.
From training I've done on IFS academy I've seen updates become available via an FTP portal? I know how to install these updates, just unsure on how to get them. Please could someone help point me in the right direction? Like I've said before, these environments are non-productive and used to help us sell IFS products.
Hi,
There is no process to update the internal/standalone environments created like that to the latest product version unless those environments are recreated.
Thank you
Hi Maku,
Thank you for your quick response. I’m happy to recreate the environments to keep them up to date.
What is the process of requesting the update / install files for this and would this require new licenses?
The environments were setup with the partner success program and are non-productive, they are used by our consultants to help sell IFS solutions.
Thank you
Hi
You can request PSO and IFS Apps9/10 software updates via the Customer Service Portal as below. The requests will be attended by the Unified Support - Delivery.
CSM Portal -> Request a Software Update >> Software Update Request
However you will only be eligible to receive an update if "Software Update" subscription is available. Kindly check further with your IFS representative and your regional market unit.
Thanks,
Anjaleen
Hi Anjaleen,
Would that process work for the partner's internal or standalone environments created for their customer demos? I believe they are not referring to the customer environment.
Thanks,
Manoj
Hi Manoj
I’m not particularly confirmed about the type of the environment they use. We do consider only the availability of “Software Update” subscription in order to provide updates. However whether they need an active environment or not which is registered under their agreement, needs to be clarified. I believe the IFS representative and the MU will be able to address this question.
Thanks,
Anjaleen
I’ve been unable to get help from our IFS representative, I’m not entirely sure who it is. Or how to contact the MU. I’ve been using IFS community for all of my support.
I would just like the ability to provide the latest PSO and Apps10 releases so we can demo to potential clients and help our consultants build and sell IFS solutions. The environments are non-productive, hosted in our Azure platform.
Thank you,
Sean
Hi Sean
If you are referring to the APPS10 RACE environments, IFS no longer provides updates to these.
