We are on App8 SP1+.  For a couple of document classes I would like to be able to capture who has viewed a document.  We are storing our documents on a file server not in the database.  Is this possible?

Thanks

Phil

“File Operation Log” exists in Apps 9 under Document Management → Basic Data → File Operation Log

Not sure if it exists in Apps 8?

Note: By default the operations are stored for 30 days which can be modified in Document Management → Basic Data → Document Basic → Document Default Values by changing SYSCFG_SOX_LOG_EXPIRE_DAYS

FYI a background job runs daily to remove (This could be disabled I guess… but will probably lead to performance issues down the line) all operations older than the value set

It’s there in Apps 8 as well. It will require you to keep the document files stored in the database. In Apps 9 and 10 it works for document files on shares an FTP as well (although the “proof” that the user did, or did not, view a document is not as strong).
