Question

Aurena Agent Installation Error

Our environment is IFS Application 10 Update 8.   When our standard users run the SetupAurenaAgent.msi they receive the Interrupted error message every time.  If the SetupAurenaAgent.msi is run as a local administrator it succeeds but the installation is done under the local administrators account so its useless to the standard user.   Standard users have full access to their AppData directory and they are able to install the IEE Agent successfully.   We suspect maybe the installer is trying to modify some registry keys that require administrator access.

Hi @william.klotz

As far as I know, the only registry key it tries to modify is HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\IFS\Document Management\Settings

Check if the user can manually edit the above registry value

We’ve performed some testing to try and isolate what is causing the issue.  We’ve discovered if we take a fresh installation of Windows 10 on a computer not on our domain we can create a local standard user and successfully install the Aurena Agent.  So far any machine on the domain receive the interrupted error when attempting the installation as a standard user.

We are suspecting there maybe a GPO policy setting causing the issue and we are beginning to review the GPO policies.

Did you find a solution to this problem? We’re experiencing the same issue.

Hi @davidp ,

We did resolve the issue it turned out to be a GPO setting that restricted access to the APPDATA and installations under APPDATA.  It took the administrator for active directory a while to figure it out but once the change was done to remove the restriction we’ve been able to install the agent successfully.

I’ll inquire to see if the administrator documented which GPO(s) required to be changed.

Hi @william.klotz,

Thank you, that would be most helpful if you could check with your administrator and confirm the GPO(s) change required. We are going live on IFS in 6 weeks and this Aurena Agent is required for Document Management.

Regards,

David
