Automatically generate pick list for customer orders

Forum|alt.badge.img+17

Hello,

I am currently working on automatically getting Pick Lists to get created once a Customer Order has everything in stock, while taking into account its backorder option.

Is there an option in IFS Cloud to automatically generate Pick Lists for Customer Orders? Currently we have to manually create Pick Lists via the “Create Pick Lists for Customer Orders” page.

I have the print agent set up so whenever a pick list is created, it automatically prints, but its getting the pick list to automatically get generated where the issue remains.

How do I approach this? Would I need to create a workflow?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Bryan

Hi @astfarazt ,

This question is actually not needed anymore as I found where to accomplish my request, but you cannot mark a question as complete without having a response marked as “best answer”.

What I was looking for was a database task that I scheduled to run every minute. I called the API function “Create Consolidated Pick List for Customer Order”, which created the pick list as requested. It only creates the Pick List that are available for creation too, so it works perfectly.

Thanks,
Bryan

Hi Bryan,

A few questions come to mind:

  • Are you using Shipments?
  • Is this business requirement exception handling (i.e. an infrequent process) or does your business specifically ship complete (i.e. when all material is Reserved) for all Customer Orders?
  • Is there a typical timeframe gap between when the Customer Order is entered vs when material is available to be reserved or is it highly variable?
