Question

Sporadic Print Manager errors for Delivery Notes

Forum|alt.badge.img+8

HI,

We have a customer using Apps10, UPD9, and they are getting errors in their Print Manager for Delivery Notes for Shipment.  It is sporadic.  Even though the message says that ‘The system cannot find the file specified’,  you can still preview the document and the document shows up in ‘Archive’.  This is a new printer that they have just set up.  Does not seem to have any rhyme or reason as to when it will error.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jo

Hi,

We have the same issue.

Did you get this sorted out?

Probably something to do with languages...

I have had something similar in the past, where the language set for the Customer is different

For example, we use the language ‘English’ in our system [en]

If we changed the language to ‘English (British)’ [GB], the system would not find the report because in our Crystal Reports location we only have the report in the en folder.

We fixed this by making sure all customers are set up with the same language.

This could have been resolved by copying the en folder and renaming it gb, however that becomes a pain when you need to add/modify a report and need to remember to do it in multiple locations.

If this isn’t the same issue, then I would also check the following:

Check language on user
Check 3x tabs on the Printer definitions screen for languages set to user (Example shown above is a mismatch)

And finally check any report rules you have are not changing the language or any events you have which may be triggering the printout (if not default IFS process printout)

The issue we are having doesn’t point to a language problem.

Looking into the log I can see that a single user hits this error sporadic.

Where it says “The system cannot find the file specified” - To me this looks as though it is trying to find the file in a different folder.

i.e. its looking for a different language folder.

Are you using Crystal Reports?

I can see its the same user printing the reports - are the delivery notes for different customers?

Ok…

Just out of curiosity, run the following query:

select * from archive_tab where trunc(exec_time) = trunc(sysdate)

And see if the LANG_CODE column is showing different languages
