I was wondering how the planned cost on the work order budget tab is calculated?  I have a work order that shows planned costs yet there all PO and material recs are closed.

Thanks

In your example with Work Order Cost Type = ‘External’ the planned cost are calculated based on what you have planned to purchase via PO (No Parts or pure Purchase Parts).

This planned value will not change just because the PO’s are closed (=material etc are received).

The receiving of the material etc on the PO’s will update the  Actual Cost, but as said the planned value will stay (planned is planned and actual is actual outcome). So the cost are not transferred over in some way.

Hope that helps.
