Why DOP does not create shop orders automatically??

Hi,

We are in a process of setting up DOP and we believe basic data setup is fine as we set the default supply type of the manufactured part as DOP (In Planning Data tab of Inventory Part window). Idea is to manufacture Top Part MYO-00120-A using couple of manufactured parts including some raw materials (purchase parts).

However, when we released the DOP, it does not create shop orders or purchase orders automatically.

 

 

Why shop order details are not shown in RMB option or shop orders do not get created? Also Purchase Orders are not generated too. But it shows inventory reservation for Top Part MYO-00120-A.

Can you please advise whether we have missed any setting?

It looks like you had enough of the top level part in stock, so that the top level DOP order supplied the full quantity from inventory, hence, no shop orders or purchase orders are needed. You can see that the order quantities are set to 0 for all expect the top level DOP order.

You can decide whether the logic should perform this “netting” where it first checks for existing stock and supply orders before generating new shop/purchase orders using the DOP Netting parameter on Inventory Part. (Can be set to Netting, No Netting or Auto Netting).
