Planning Mehods for low demand but high cost.

I would probably recommend to us MRP Code A - Planning Method A - Lot for Lot. But Parts with MRP Code A are planned by the MRP, not the “Create Order Proposal” job (which is used by MRO Code B or C).

Hi Martin thank you for your answer. Do you mean that if I sett A as in Planning Method IFS will create a an order proposal automatically as soon as a mechanic creates a demand for it? Do we need to add additional information to the system(in this page, se picture) or configurate this to happen automatically in IFS?

Hi Daiane,

when you set the MRP Code up with Planning Method A, you need to run the MRP. Depending on whether its a puchased part or a manufactued part, the MRP will create a new purchase requisition oder shop order requisition for the demand. Of course you can plan the MRP Job to run e.g. once a day so that the requistions will be created automatically.

My college who is allowed to change features in IFS in my company told me that is not possible to run the order proposal when the Planning Method is A, only B and C.
