Hello,

We are using IFS Apps 10 version 24.34.0

Regarding purchased parts. We are buying in injection moulded plastics where we have 1 common tool for 4 separate purchase parts.

Is there a way to either link these parts together so that when a PO is raised it either automatically adds the other components or pops up a warning message.

OR

Is it possible to have 1 parent part number that then disaggregates into the other parts upon registering arrival ?

Hi @AchapmanIE, You can use the Purchase Order Template to simplify the process of entering purchase orders. Instead of manually entering all the order lines, you can select a template that lists the parts and quantities you usually order.

Thanks for the reply.

Do you know how purchase order templates work with MRP?

So if one part for forecast in MRP would it auto pull a template and add all other parts?

Its something i can have a play around with, but if you know off the top of your head, perfect.

It is not possible to pull a PO Template from MRP.

From what I understand you are looking at a functionality similar to packaged parts functionality in the customer order flow. Where you are selling part A, and it consists of part B, C & D. Unfortunately, from my understanding of IFS Applications, this functionality is not available in the purchase cycle. I have had many challenges in the past where purchasing for a system is done, but the receipt need to be tracked at individual part level as consumption may occur per component part.

The solution i thought of was to do an outside operation shop order for 1off the 4 components and then either have by products for the other 3 OR have a disassembly shop order to break it down into components.

I don’t want to do this as it creates a unique ordering method for 4 parts vs 1,000’s of other which are just done standard via MRP.

Other option is to add a custom event warning when 1 of the parts is added saying that the other 3 also need to be added to the PO and to not allow a save on the order until they are all added.
