Assistance Needed to Speed Up Refill Putaway Zone Execution for Remote Warehouse Vans

I solutioned this very similarly, with storage zones per-part, per-remote warehouse, and while I haven’t tested this at that scale, I noticed similar behavior with the Refill job and pivoted to using Storage Optimization instead. There are some caveats with this approach, and it may not be applicable to your warehouse structure.

Select the remote warehouse in Warehouse Navigator. In the general tab, change Putaway Destination = True.

Associate the storage zone for the remote warehouse inventory location to the inventory part.

If you are refilling the parts strictly from your inventory, only Storage Optimization needs ran. However, if any of the parts on the Remote Warehouse Assortment has a supply type of Purchase Requisition or Shipment Order, the Refill All Putaway zones job still needs to be ran to generate those. The cadence would be:

1. Run Storage Optimization with one of the “From” criteria as the supply warehouse, or bay, etc. to generate refill transport tasks.
2. Run Refill All Putaway Zones for that remote warehouse to generate Purchase Req’s or Shipment Orders.

The caveats are:

• If a part is removed from the remote warehouse assortment, and the inventory part putaway zone for that remote warehouse is not removed as well, Storage Optimization will generate transport tasks to move all of those parts from the supply locations to the remote warehouse.
• Storage Optimization will attempt to refill all remote warehouses at once. As a workaround, you can temporarily set “Receipts Blocked” = True on the remote warehouses you do not wish to refill.

One benefit however, is that you can set a part supply type to Purchase Requisition on the Remote Warehouse Assortment and simultaneously refill that part using transport tasks and purchase requisitions. Storage Optimization will attempt to refill from your supply warehouse and Refill All Putaway zones will create requisitions for the remainder not in stock.
