Project Managers and Controllers need an easy way to access the Sales Contract directly from the Project definition screen. This would save time and improve accuracy. Without this link, finding and verifying sales contracts is slow and can cause frustration, lowering productivity. As the list of contracts grows, it will become even harder and more inconvenient to search for the linked sales contract. Right now, users have to filter and search through the list one by one, which is not convenient.

Hello @vineethifs,
I totally understand where you are coming from, it would indeed greatly benefit the users if there is a navigation command at the Project header level (in ‘Project Definition’ and/or any other suitable page/s). This issue is further worsened by the fact that there is no “Project ID” filter on the ‘Sales Contract’ & ‘Sales Contracts’ pages.

However, at the absence of a such navigation command button feature to easily navigate to Sales Contract from Project, I have seen certain clients using following workarounds.
1. Using the Project ID as the Sales Contract ID (this makes the querying easier in Sales Contract page - but has to be done from the Project’s inception to be seamless)

2. Implementing a searchable custom Project ID field on the ‘Sales Contract’ header. By doing this users can easily search by the “Project ID”.

On the other hand, there is another approach that can be followed if you have a designated ‘Revenue Activity and/or Activities’ in your ‘work breakdown structure’ as follows.

Step 1 - Flip over to the ‘Project Monitoring’ view in WBS

Step 2 - Then select the Revenue Activity in the WBS against which ‘Sales Contract’ is connected

Step 3 - Expand the Activity (By clicking on top of the rightward pointer next to the Activity) so that ‘Project Connections’ list gets displayed

Step 4 - From the list select the ‘Sales Contract’ connected

Step 5 - Then from ‘Connections’ page that gets loaded click the ‘Object Details’, which will take users directly to the ‘Sales Contract’ page.

Caveat to former method is if there are multiple sales contracts connected to the same project and/or extensive WBS with no designated revenue activity.

Hope this helps you in some way!

Cheers!
