Hi,
Is there any possibility in PSO to restrict a resource from performing more than a certain number of tasks in a day? For example, resource A should only perform 5 tasks in a day.

It’s possible to do for a bucket resource - but for a person I can’t think of a way off the top of my head.

What’s the scenario you’re trying to support here?

It's more common for buckets, but you can use rules for individual resources as well. And the rule would limit number of activities per shift to 5. There is an example in IFS Cloud - Scheduling demystified (24R2) | IFS Community, chapter “Define Capacity for Bucket Resources”.

Hi @Alexander Heinze
Rules you refer to commit rule?

No, capacity rules as in the document chapter above.

Hi @Sowmiya

I'm not entirely sure if this is exactly what you're looking for, but if you are using PSO ARP you can set up an allocation rule (which is different from the commit rule) to ensure the DSE only allocates a pre-defined number of activities within a resource's shift.

To do this, use the rule type 'Limits the number of activities that can be carried out within a shift or reference period' from the PSO Workbench. Navigate to Planning → General Data → Rules screen, and then configure the rule parameters according to your needs. Then you can include this rule to a rule collection and map the rule collection to a resource or resource type you wish.

@Sowmiya  That’s also the type of rule I was referring to. In 24R2 you don’t need the ARP for that, you can maintain them in IFS Cloud.
