Question

OH costs in Product Estimate

Does IFS consider material OH costs when calculating the cost of a part in Product Estimate (Estimate Bid Management)?

The part uses P-110 purchasing cost template which includes a cost element of 10% estimated material cost as the OH.

Hi Pabasara,

Could you calculate the cost in the normal cost calculation process & copy the cost to cost set one.

If you mentioned the relevant OH cost bucket that would be reflected in the cost calculation.

This cost would be displayed in Estimate window once the cost calculation is run (RMB > Calculate).

Also consider the Currency and its conversation rates.

Hope this clarifies your doubt.

Hi Praveen,

Thank you for the answer.

I was referring to a scenario where we estimate the cost for a new part where the cost calculation has not been run in Part Cost, but OH’s are applied in the cost template.

It seems the functionality is such that OH’s are not reflected in the cost calculation in Estimator, unless we apply the part costs as you have mentioned.

Hi Pabasara,

For a new structure in estimate, it is possible to apply overheads. Once you create an estimate for a new manufactured part, you can add components under product/components tab, RMB on product header or component line to enter the overheads.

Hope this answers your question.
