Automatic reservation of handling units

Hi all,

Customer’s requirement is to automatically reserve from the handling unit with the highest quantity.

As and example, customer has two handling units with quantity 500 and 18 each. When reserving for a order with 100 units, customer wants to reserve the full quantity from the handling unit with the quantity of 500.

With the current functionality, it reserves 18 and 82 from both handling units to reserve 100 units.

Note: Customer has ticked ‘Largest Quantity on Handling Unit’ in the Site>Inventory>Automatic Reservation but it does not fulfill the customer’s requirement. 

Is there any setup which we can set to have the above functionality?

Hi Anupa,

Do you also have Handling Unit Optimzation active?
Note that using handling unit optimized means that the automatic reservation will always prefer to reserve complete handling units regardless of other setting in priority.

Thank you for the comment. 

Yes. Largest Quantity on Handling Unit can be set as a priority only when the Handling Unit Optimization is active. Customer’s current setup is as below.

Since the Handling Unit Optimization is active, the customer’s requirement cannot be fulfilled.

Customer wants to automatically reserve from the Handling Unit wit the highest quantity.

 

Any way to achieve that?

Hi,

Does someone actually know why the system has been designed to not be able to use the priority ‘Largest Quantity on Handling Unit’ without having the ‘Handling Unit Optimization’ active?
