Hi All,
I’m not sure exactly how to word this, but I’m hoping someone can help.
I have a finished good part that I’ve set to have a safety stock. MRP is kicking out shop order requisitions, but I would like to have the requisitions automatically released to shop orders instead. The part isn’t Master Scheduled. I’ve tried a few settings on the Inventory Part with no luck. Does anyone have any advise on how I could accomplish this?

Okay, you would then setup the Release Shop Order Requisition option. That is the same as creating shop order. Then run the Auto Process job after MRP is finished and make sure the start date of the requisition is within the defined horizon on the process type

You can auto convert shop order requisitions into shop orders by connecting a Process Type to the Inventory Part record. This will then inherit to the requisitions created for the part. Then you can schedule the job Auto Processing Shop Orders. When the requisition start date is within the defined interval it will be converted to a shop order. The auto processing can also release and reserve the shop order.

Hi Bjorn, thank you for your help. I wonder if you could help me a little further. I am on IFS8. I have created my Process Type and it is set to Release Shop Order. My only choices are Release Shop Order Requisition, Release Shop Order, and Reserve Shop Order. When I run MRP and the Auto Processing Shop Orders job, my results are still only showing shop order requisitions. I am wondering if there is something in the Auto Processing Job set up that I am missing? There are no customer demands for this part, but there is safety stock that I am trying to replenish. This is a new process for me, so I may be missing something very simple. I am manually running MRP and the Auto Process Job so that I don’t have to wait for the normal scheduled times.
