auto status as released when the work order is created

In Core functionality it is not possible, But you should be able to achieve this using a custom event

can we set default status as Released for work task ?

No there is option for that as well, unless you make it through a custom event.

If the Work Order is generated from a PM Action, you can do this as standard. 

Change the Object Property for PM_DEF_TASK_STATUS to “RELEASED”.  When the PM tasks are generated, they are released, and so is the overlying work order.
