The customer has a piece of equipment that is used in house for cleaning other equipment. That piece was purchased on a PO line as Company Owned.


The Current Position of this piece is In Inventory.


Please advise how to set this part in In Facility and not in the Inventory Part in Stock.


How should they need to proceed in future when buying equipment that will be used by them instead of rented/sold?

The way I do this is as follow:

  1. Buy the serial object via a PO and receive it (as you did as well)
  2. Then create a WO (and WT when you workj in IFS 10 or IFS Cloud) and create a material line on it for teh serail part. Use a Functioanl Object like (CLEAINING EQUIPMENT) on the WO
  3. Issue the part from here (make sure you select teh cirrect serial number
  4. Then go to Report In Work Order and use the command button (RMB) ‘Place Serial in structure’ and select the serial part. Now a serial object is created and placed underneath the object CLEAINING EQUIPMENT
