Hello,

How can I change the expiration date of a material? Under what conditions is the expiration date value assigned? Is it possible for it to be automatically assigned? Currently, when I right-click on the material stock information screen for the relevant material, the Expiration Date field appears grayed out and is not clickable. I would appreciate your valuable insights.

Best regards.

Expiration Date is typically assigned in the arrival/receipt process whether its manufactured or via PO. This can be set manually, or it can use settings for Shelf Life on the Inventory Part.  Id recommend using it in conjunction with Serial or Lot Batch tracking, otherwise that expiry date is applied to all parts in that same location.

In IFS Docs, if you search ‘Set Expiration Date’ there is some useful information there.

Click the right mouse button on the record and go to “Change Expiration Date”.

Note: If the material is reserved you need to unreserve it first to be able to change the Expiry date.
