We have an Internal Customer Order and Purchase Orde between our UK and Spain Company. But we are having an issue on the Purchase Receipt Return and Automatically Generating the Dispatch Advice
1) Spain raised a purchase order to UK and sent the order (EDI) 2) UK fulfils customer order for Spain and sends the dispatch advice
3) Spain receives Incoming Dispatch advice, but the unit fails inspection
4) Spain creates purchase receipt return, connects this to a shipment and delivers back to UK.
However no automatic Dispatch Advice is sent to the UK and we therefore cannot book in the returned part in the UK.
How do we solve this?

Hi Danny,
Normally Dispatch advice can be sent when the Internal Customer Order is ‘Delivered’ and the Delivery note is created and printed. When setting up the Internal Customer; in the Order tab → Message Defaults tab it can be set to send Dispatch advice automatically.
Please refer below community post for further details.
It works for us at point 2) as you display above. But doesn’t work when trying to return the items from Spain to UK 4) It doesn’t send an automated dispatch advice (nor can we force one to go manually) and it doesn’t automatically create an RMA.
Hi Danny,
Actual supplier shipment functionality doesn’t have enabled the dispatch advice, but only the printing of a return note. Also RMA is unfortunately not generated automatically. It needs to be done manually when receiving the parts on supplier site.
There have been improvements in IFS Cloud (from 22R2 release), return shipment is now handling with standard shipment window.

Pilar
Hi @Danny@Pilar Franco,
Have you managed to solve this issue? Even with the RMA manually created we have the same issue here. There is no way to send the dispatch advice for the Purchase Receipt Return shipment to the receiver site, the button simply doesn’t show. Even with the delivery note printed. All of our sites are well set-up for inter-site/inter-company use. We can always send Dispatch Advice, just not for the returns.
This line also doesn’t show in the Inventory Parts in Internal Order Transit screen as the Dispatch Advice is not created.
Thank you!
Hi @larasib ,
Inventory Part in Internal Order Transit only show the parts delivered from a customer order in an inter-site process. But it doesn’t consider the returned parts handled in the flow backwards. Both the return in the Purchase site and the RMA in the Sales site (to receive the returned parts) are manual processes.
Also, consider that the outgoing DESADV message is considered only when receiver type is a customer, and also this message setup is configured in that customer.
On the other side, as said before, there is no automatic process to create an RMA and to receive it automatically from any kind of EDI message.
Consider in initiating a new Idea in IFS Community, so this automatic flow could then be considered by RnD as an Enhancement Request for future releases.

Pilar
Thank you @Pilar Franco
No issue for me to receive the RMA manually however, as I can’t send out the Shipment through the Dispatch Advice, how will I see the returned line on the site to which I want to return the part?
Normally a RMA is received manually from the Register Arrivals page, however, my line doesn’t exist in the Register Arrivals page, nor in the Incoming Dispatch Advice. The Shipment is now closed and my part is nowhere to be found, so even manually I can’t close the RMA.
Am I doing something wrong? :)
@Pilar Franco same issue here, can you please tell us what do you mean by receiving the returned part “manually”, is it a manual stock entry ? or a count in ? or is it something else ?
Thank you very much
Hi @larasib , @Zineb ,
RMA line should be available to be received manually in Register Arrivals page once the Purchase receipt has been returned.
Could you please tell me which IFS Cloud version are you using to do some testing and provide more info of the steps?
Regards,
Pilar
Hi @Pilar Franco
Thank you for your help!
We have nothing here:
Our Shipment is Closed:
Our PO receipt is Returned:
We are using 23.1.10.
Hi @larasib ,
I did a quick test of an intersite process in the last Core release 23.1.13:
Then, I returned the parts for rework:
And processed the supplier shipment:
Then, RMA created in customer order, that needs to be released:
And returned parts in this RMA can be received in Register Arrivals:
If this is not working for you, then create a support case so it can be analyzed in detail.
