We have a problem in IFS APPS 10. When a customer order is created on IFS and the order type is “XPR”, IFS will issue the part from the last location used and not its default location

I think this is because the option below is set to “All locations” and not “Only specified location”.

If I change it to “Only specified location” does that mean it will only use the default location?

Or do I have to set something else?

Thanks

Hi John,

This setting works for Shop Order Material issuance/reservation only. This would not work for Customer Order reservation.

I don’t think if there is any setting to specify a location for Customer Order for reservation.

Thank you for your reply. Would I be able to use a custom event to specify the location to reserve from in a Customer Order? I don’t expect to be instructed how to do this, I would just like to know what table I should set the event on.

@jdoherty Automatic Reservation will consider the Priorities you have setup at Site level. Thus I wouldn’t agree with you when you say it’s always reserving from the location of the last reservation. My bet is that in the same location you have received more qty with a PO Receipt and probably that the lot_batch with the earliest receipt date.

See below the different prios that you can play around with for automatic reservation.

What is the reason for wanting to reserve the stock from a specific location_no?

More details on AUtomatic Reservation could be read from below URL:

Because I want the stock to always be reserved from the Inventory Part’s Default location when it is being reserved on a Customer Order. We have Warehouse locations set up in IFS for a lot of Inventory Parts and sometimes on Customer Orders these parts are being reserved from the Warehouse Location. I don’t want that happening, it must always be the Inventory Part’s Default location it must be reserved from on a Customer Order.

@jdoherty then if you have a bunch of locations where you don’t want to allow reservations you might want to look into Part Availability Controls functionality.

You could define such a Part Availability Control

Then you can assign this Availability Control to your bins/bays/tiers/warehouses.

This might work for your scenario.

Thanks for that, I will experiment with it in our DEV environment .
