Lot batch by default value

Hello Community,

We are using IFS 8.

Currently we are using the serialized tracking for the parts. I want to convert some of the serial parts to the Lot batch tracking parts.

we have to make the Lot tracking process for one site for now.

But the issue is If we change the tracking from Serial tracking to Lot tracked parts in master part for all the site that part will become Lot track enabled and while receiving the Purchase order on the other site user they have to provide the Lot batch no mandatorily as asterisk (*) will not allow them to receive.

So can we change this asterisk(*) to N/A so that while receiving the PO user for other site user they do not need to type Lot batch no as N/A each time.

Your inputs will be helpful.

Hi Deepack,

Can the lot batch tracking “order based” match with your need : “do not type “N/A” instead of “*” each time ” ?

In this case, the Lot Batch field is automatically filled with a concatenation of the “order_no-line_no-number of receipt done” (the users do not need to type any value).

Of course, this behavior will be applied for all the sites which use the part and the lot/batch will be detailled into inventory even for the sites where lot/batch tracking is not required...

Best regards

Thomas

Hi @Thomas DURAND thanks for your reply.

Is it possible to allow lot batch tracking to one site and for other sites Not lot tracking for the same part.

Hi Deepack,

When the Lot/batch tracking is enable for a part, it is enable for all the sites which use the part.

This allows for example, to keep the traceability when a part is transfered from a site to another.
